ALONG LAUNCHES 5 EXCLUSIVE BOARDS IN COLLABORATION WITH ARTIST CHIDY WAYNE FOR WINTER 2014

The new BEASTIE BOARDS series is a collaborative effort between BROOKLYN based skate and surf house ALONG and artist CHIDY WAYNE (BARCELONA).
ALONG was established in 2011 in Williamsburg (Brooklyn) as a way to live a passion for skate and surf but inspired by nature making handmade limited edition boards with sustainable materials and old school techniques.

CHIDY WAYNE is a Barcelona based artist and illustrator who develops his own way to approach to the image for brands such as Nike, Esquire, American Crew, New York Magazine…, as well as illustrating fashion books as ‘Trendy’.

In november 2013 artist CHIDY WAYNE was painting in NYC and ALONG’s founder and director DAVID LOPEZ challenged him to collaborate without any guideline but being related to nature.

They both sat in front of an Alaia surfboard while listening to 60s soul music and speaking about the feeling of riding the pools at Chelsea Piers or a wave in Nicaragua.

The result is a magnificent and unique composition. Five beautiful acrylic on wood beasts represented with the wildness but precision a rider needs to face both concrete or real waves.

To represent and promote BEASTIE BOARDS, ALONG associates photographer HECTOR PEREZ and filmmaker ALEX MORENO to represent the essence of the collaboration. They have worked intensively over the last years in PARIS and NYC on magazines and fashion campaigns for brands suchs as Vogue Italia, Vs Magazine,Tamara Mellon, V Magazine, Dzojchen, Lars Andersson… Both are two uprising names in the game.
